Water proof

Hi

i just want to ask one thing is iPhone X and xs max is really waterproof?

as apple claim their product to be waterproof but in reality this is not the case. I have two phones iPhone X and xs max. They both are dead now after getting in contact with water. How we spouse to buy such expensive phone if we don’t have reason to trust with it expertises.


i am very disappointed. Please suggest me what to do. One of my phone is under gurrenty period.

Just like all other consumer electronics that claim some sort of water resistance, Apple has footnotes and warranty terms that specifically state that water resistance is not permanent and that liquid damage is not covered by any warranty. It's nice to have, but at best it might be useful if it rains and maybe it keeps water out. I certainly wouldn't recommend intentionally getting an iPhone wet.
