Saving a Text Edit document to a specific existing folder

After creating a text edit file, when I click save it gives me some limited choices. If I want to save it to an existing folder within my documents folder the only way I can do it is to save it to my desktop and then drag it to the location I want in the finder. The choices available when I click save in Text Edit are limited. Is there a way to save a text edit file to a specific folder? Thanks.

Click the button with the downward bracket or arrow on the Save dialog box.
