Copy photo on iPhone 6 to my Mac Powerbook (Yosemite) without using email.
Can the above be accomplished? How?. I have not and do not wish to set up my iPhone for email.

Have you tried attaching the phone to the computer using a USB cord and then using Image Capture to see if you can transfer the photo(s)?
