Is there any way the call I just received alerting me to an iCloud security breach with my account is legit?

No, such calls are scams from criminals trying to steal your personal and financial information. Hang up on them.

Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' alerts, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support
