As soon as I try to enter my passcode the screen goes black. I forced a restart by hitting the side button and Digital Crown and it is still doing this. Any suggestions?

The random numbers are not good news, that could be suggesting a failing touch screen. I think your best plan will be Contact Support and get it checked by Apple Service.
Is that screen blanking like the screen going to sleep, or like the watch is shutting down and rebooting with the white Apple logo?
If you are getting a reboot at the passcode stage the most likely problem is a very low battery, so put the watch on charge for an hour or so and see if it improves.
Black like it I going to sleep. I’ve occasionally been able to try to enter passcode and it enters random numbers.
