Factory reset/iCloud

So I got a new phone and want to do a factory reset on my old iPhone so that I can let my mom have it. It’s still connected to my iCloud. How do I reset it without losing any files on my current phone and iCloud. Since they’re all still connect it? I believe i turned iCloud off on my old phone but I still wanna make sure before I do anything. Thank you!
