I have a new iPad that I’m trying to set up that has its own number but it keeps using my cell phone number for iMessage and FaceTime

Hello,

When using iPad for iMessage and FaceTime the iPad will use your iPhone’s number. There is no way to generate a new phone number for use on iPad.
