Backup contacts in iCloud

How do I confirm that my contacts are in the iCloud? Also how to share contacts in my iPad and MacBook?

Settings, your name/account, iCloud, contacts. If that setting switch is enabled, you’re sync’ing contacts to all devices similarly configured via iCloud.
