Using I cloud on gmail

When I try and sign my iCloud into my gmail it says visit Apple ID and create an app password you can use with gmail

Are you using an app other than Apple Mail to access your iCloud account? If so, you need an app specific password.


You need to enable 2 Factor Authentication on your Apple ID and create an app specific password to use. If your account won’t allow 2 Factor Authentication, try 2 step verification.
