My wife and I have a first generation Apple watches. The crystal face on both have come lose and Apple support told me it would cost approximate $599.00 to repair. Has anyone else received this type of feed back/

The crystal cane lose on mine and if you look at the adhesive it was real hit and miss as far as the contact area. I shipped it back saying I thought the adhesive bond was at fault and they sent it back repaired and at no charge.

If that's what Apple told you, that's what it would cost. Sounds like it might be time to upgrade which will cost you less.
I think they have a design flaw. No need to chase good money after bad.
Was your watch still under warranty? Both of our watches are not covered by warranty any more. It is kinda sad that the adhesive bond on both watches wore out at the same time.
