I'm very new and still getting used to using a MacBook. I've been shutting down my Mac after every time I'm done using it. Is that safe? When am I supposed to shut it down or just put it to sleep instead?

I shut mine down at the end of the day. Little use to have it sleeping during the night :)
During the day I'll close the lid, because it gets used most of the day.
Never had any issues with shutting it down. So it should be safe :)
