I just clicked on a Perl file residing on my DiskStation, and pressed option+command+i. From that panel I copied the full server address to that file onto the clipboard. This was the AppleShare over TCP/IP address. In Apple Mail, I created a new message, entered the arbitrary words, "Perl file on DiskStation", selected Link : Add Link, and pasted the server address. I mailed this to myself.
On another Mac on my network, I opened the email and clicked the Perl file on Diskstation link. There was a progress bar while the DiskStation mounted, and then an administrative password challenge panel to access the DiskStation. Once that was satisfied, a Finder window appeared with the original DiskStation Perl file selected.
The first time that you do this will likely impose a password challenge before the recipient. If you do not want them to know the adminstrative password on the DiskStation, then this issue may not be what you want. That password challenge also preselects remember in Keychain too. So the next time a link is sent, the Mail recipient should not encounter the security challenge, and just the selected DiskStation file in the Finder will open once the mount has occurred.
The mount point would also remain on the mail recipient's Desktop too.
