I am not able to search and find an app on my macbook that I found on my iphone

Many, and I do mean many, apps that are for the iPhone will not be available for a Mac or vise versa. The same applies for the iPad, also. You can, with a bit of searching, find something of similar though. In my opinion the 'fun stuff' is a bit limited for the Mac and MacBook.
