No Facial Recognition using Screen Protection on iPad Pro 11.

I bought a new iPad Pro 11 last month and they put a new Screen Protector on it for me. I could not use the Facial Recognition feature because it said the camera was covered. I took it back to the AT&T store and they carefully replaced the Screen Protector with a new one taking care not to cover the camera. It still did not work. I still got the same message, Camera Covered.

I just got off the phone with Apple Support and he had me take the Screen Protector off of my iPad and try the Facial Recognition and it worked. Now, my screen on my iPad is vulnerable without a screen protector. I have dropped my devices accidentally in the past and cracked the screens.

Is this a bug that can be fixed? Please advise. Thank you.

You bought an inferior Screen Protector from AT&T. I'm betting the screen protector didn't have a cutout for the front facing True Depth Camera system.

Go out to Amazon.com and look for screen protectors for iPad Pro 11 and make sure you purchase with a major cutout for the True Depth Camera.

Here's a decent example: https://www.amazon.com/Tech-Armor-Ballistic-Protector-Designed/dp/B07LBZLDHJ/ref=sr_1_10?crid=1147JJN1IHTHI&keywords=ipad+pro+11+screen+protector&qid=1564699988&s=gateway&sprefix=ipad+pro+11+screen+%2Caps%2C188&sr=8-10
