PAIRING FAILED -- MANY TIMES

Trying to pair watch to new iPhone 6s, pairing failed, many, many times. It will still pair with my

older iPhone 6 easily. I have unpaired the watch twice and still get the failed message with the new device. On the watch I have tried Reset several times. Pressing the little button to power off and delete everything, the Power Off button does not respond (I don't think).
