upgrade notification for 4S

I received a upgrade notice on my 4S from apple which I activated then to my Horror I get the message connect to iTunes. Up to now the phone has been working perfectly. I connected to iTunes to Restore the phone and when it gets to firmware it stops and gives me a error message 29. I have tried all the solutions recommended but every time it stops once it gets to firmware. Now the phone is useless is there some way I can get past this blockage as the phone won't work at all.
