Google maps causing phone to reboot

Recently my phone started rebooting frequently for no reason. It would **** off and then the apple screen would appear. I reset the network settings and did some other suggested remedies to no avail. The problem seemed especially bad when using Google maps. I erased the phone completely and began reinstalling and using apps one by one. Within in 24 hours the phone seemed fine.

Then I reinstalled Google maps. Within one hour of using Google maps, the phone started rebooting again.

I deleted Google maps and the problem went away.

What is causing the phone to reboot/restart when Google maps is installed even when I’m not using Google maps?
