restore problems
I try to restore the phone and the apple logo blinks but does nothing else. what should I do?

Force it into recovery mode using the steps under the section titled If your device turns on but gets stuck during start up here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201412
Failing that, you'll need to contact Apple directly http://getsupport.apple.com
