Move ring

Recently my move ring is showing only a subset of the move count achieved during a workout. Say 500 for the workout, which I can see in the details, but sometime after the ring itself will show less then what was achieved in the workout, let alone workout + activity. Tried resetting the phone and that didn’t do the trick.
