Is my passcode the same as my password? My password opens my iPad. How do I get my phone open?

Generally no. Passcode is used to unlock the device when it is in "lock screen" mode.

If your iphone is screen locked and you don't know or forgot the passcode, the iphone could become "disabled".

Should be this case, you have to follow these steps:--> If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

If you meant something different, please give us more details.
