Upgrading iMac Memory: 4x8 or 2x16

Hello everyone!

I have a user with an iMac (27" Late 2015 version), who currently has 8GB or RAM.

I am planning to upgrade it to 32GB. Is there any differences between using a four of 8GB or two of 16GB

If you add 2x8GB modules to the current 2x4GB modules, it will give you a total of 24GB

If you add 2x16GB modules to the current 2x4GB modules, it will give you a total of 40GB.

Then if later, you decide that you need more than 24GB or 40GB, then you can always replace the original 2x4GB modules.
