Macbook Pro 5,5 Ram Upgrade

Hi,

I want to upgrade the for my MacBook Pro "Core 2 Duo" 2.53 13". I've tried some old DDR3L rams, but no one is working, it's only beeping at boot, than I've to force shutdown. The DDR3L should be no problem it should also work with an DDR3 system.

Is there any QVL to check if which RAM is supported?

IIn the following link is a picture with the tried RAMs: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rm60wy4gpq3fajb/img.jpg

Thanks.

You’d think, but for some reason Macs are fussy about RAM that’s higher speed rated than the nominal rating. I’ve experimented around and found they work with slower RAM, but obviously with lower performance.

It theoretically shouldn’t be the case with Intel chipsets, but there could be some differences in how Apple sets them up via firmware.

Thank you for your answers.

I think the speed should not be the problem, the tested RAM is only faster and DDR3L should also support the voltage of DDR3.

Maybe the tested RAM has not the quality like Crucial.

A list of working RAMs (QVL) does not exist, so I could look for old RAMs which should work?
