Parallel's will cost you $60 a year subscription (or more), and Boot Camp is included with macOS. You will need a Windows 10 license, but otherwise Boot Camp is free, and will run Windows at the native speed of the Mac.

However, you will need to have sufficient storage available on your internal (SSD/Flash SSD) drive to carve out probably a 100GB partition for Boot Camp (or more) depending on your total Windows storage needs. You will benefit from 16 GB of ram to handle all of the stuff you want to use in Windows.

The age and configuration of your MacBook Pro will tell more of a story here.

If you are using resource intensive apps then use Boot Camp. If you have a lot of RAM and your Windows apps are not heavy resource users you can use a VM like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox to install Windows. If running Windows in a VM you share your system resources between MacOS and Windows while Windows is running. If you use Boot Camp you independently boot either MacOS or Windows so the booted operating system uses all your system resources.

You can try VirtualBox to see it it works for you. VirtualBox is free. If you find that the VM is too slow then delete it and try Boot Camp.

I am using MacBook Pro 2018 i9 6 cores, 32 GB RAM. My question is actually where the performance is best? Would it be laggy or run real slow on Parallels if im running heavy programs or doing heavy development ?
