Phone is not charging.

So I’ve recently came home from a month long trip in Vietnam. When I arrived in the US, I tried to charge my phone but, “This accessory may not be supported” always shows up when using it. The charger is a normal apple charger, and worked fine in Vietnam and with my other devices (did not bring overseas with me). Could it be that the outlets in Vietnam caused my phone battery to fry?

Unikely. That message often comes from using a 3rd party cable or possibly if there's a problem with an Apple or MFi cable. I have a few cables that have been used for a long time and sometimes don't work. I'll either get that message or see it start charging then stop. My iPhone 7 seems to be less sensitive to cables than my iPad Mini 4. I know I should probably replace those cables, but I'm cheap.


Another thing is when there's lint or dust in the Lightning port. Here's Apple's explanation:
