Why Apple Music Subscription?

Why do I need an Apple Music subscription when I have already paid for the music? I do not want Apple streaming, I just want access to the music that I’ve already paid for.

iPhone 7

Millions of people feel the same as you. There is nothing to stop you from listening to the music you have already paid for instead of renting that same music from Apple Music or any other streaming service.

When you load your own music into your own portable device, your music consumes some of your device's storage space. This is not a problem for most iPhone 7 owners. When you subscribe to a music service, you pay for "transportation" charges for WiFi and/or cellular internet usage every time you listen to music. That's the technology trade-off.

When you listen to your own music, you pay once for the CDs you wish to own. With a streaming service, you pay each month for renting any music you may desire from that service's catalog.

The choice is yours. You seem to be quite happy with your own personal music catalog, and seem uncomfortable paying monthly to listen only to music that is already sitting on your shelf at home. In your case, I would recommend continuing to use iTunes to put your own music on your own iPhone.
