IOS and Embroidery software

I am a embroidery digitizer and I am going to school for graphic design. I would like to is the iPad Pro with the Pen. However, there are only two softwares out there that works with Apple products (one of which no one likes), however neither run on iOS.

Wilcom came out with an embroidery software called Hatch, so why not Apple? Just a thought. Maybe it’s more for an independent app developer.

I could buy the one software people do like for the iMac however, no pen and no flexibility to use it like a tablet.

Hello,

I am in a similar boat as you. I create a lot of embroidery designs on my iPad Pro with Apple Pencil but unfortunately there aren’t any applications for iPad that will turn the graphic into an embroidery design. I also haven’t found a good solution for the Macintosh either. I have resorted in using an older application called SewArt that runs on Windows. It is up to a software developer to create such an application for iPad. It is especially exciting that since Apple announced for this Fall as a part of iPadOS 13 that USB storage can be connected to an iPad which means that a computerized embroidery machine can be connected to iPad. The last piece of the puzzle is a good iPad application.

Since you already have a Mac there are two embroidery softwares out there for it. One is TruEmbroidery by Pfaff that everyone complains about, the other is Embrilliance, which is suppose to be good. I would go with Embriliance however, I really want to use the pen with the sketch option that lays down stitches as you draw. So....

Hello,

Thank you for the recommendation, I will check it out!

You may be interested to know that Apple has announced for this Fall as apart of iPadOS 13/macOS 10.15 a feature called Sidecar. This will allow you to use an iPad as a second screen for a Macintosh which would allow you to use a Mac embroidery app with the Apple Pencil on your iPad’s screen.
