What iPad model did you buy exactly? iOS 10 was released 3 years ago.

What happens if you go to Settings->General->Software Update and try to update?

If you bought an iPad 4, then it will not be able to update to iOS 12, and you would not be able to run Firefox on it.

Which iPad do you have? If it can’t be updated to iOS 12.4, then you can’t use Firefox.

If you just purchased a used, nearly 6-year iPad 4th generation, then it cannot be upgraded past iOS 10.3.3

Its internal hardware is too old, underpowered and totally incompatible with any current and future iOS versions.

In order to be able to run Firefox on your iPad, you need to be at least running iOS 11.4. If you purchased iPad 4, you won't be able to run it.
