Apple Card invite email

I received an invitation email about getting early access to Apple Card, but every time I tried to apply, an error message always pops up and says "Apple Card Unavailable. Apple Pay services are currently unavailable. Please try again later."

I tried calling Apple support too, but they can't seem to figure our which department to direct my call to, spend most of the time waiting for transfer and the call was disconnected after 15 minutes..

Any one experiencing the same issue trying to apply for the Apple Card? I was really excited to receive the invite, and really bummed that it's not working :(

they did the same thing with me too. They asked for the SEID and serial number and said they were going to call me on Thursday. TBH this is the most ridiculous way to release something like we are dying to get this Apple card and then when we finally get the email we can’t apply like what the heck just released the **** thing to everybody 😒

I had same issue as everyone else, receiving invitation and getting error message when trying to apply. I just spoke with Apple Support and they knew immediately what the problem was - The invitation was sent to my iTunes id. The id that should be used is your iCloud account id. The only options given were to sign out of my iCloud account and then back in with my iTunes account with a stern warning that I may lose or at least not have any access to all my iCloud connected items, like contacts. The only other option is to wait until the general release of the card. I could be wrong but I don't recall seeing anything about which email to use. Different emails for iTunes id's and iCloud id's has long been an issue with apple and I guess I just found another example. I would think apple could simply send another invitation to the email they want but didn't specify. I thought wrong apparently.

The email address that the invite went to - is that definitely the same as your iCloud account email (NOT your iTunes store account email?)

I think that might be my problem. The email went to my Gmail account and not my icloud account. So when I tap the link, Apple Card doesn't want to issue it to a Gmail address. The Apply Now email would have to have been sent to my iCloud account.

I'm not 100% sure this is the explanation... but it's possible.

Hey y’all.

Just figured I would let everyone know Apple is completely aware of the issue, and to remedy temporarily they are sending out invites over the next 48 hours to anybody that presses the “Notify Me” button on the Apple Card website and enters a valid email address associated with an iCloud-enabled Apple ID. Even people that entered correct emails are getting follow-up emails from Apple about this new process.

I messed up too, and on day-one entered my iTunes/Store-use Apple ID on the Apple Card Preview site. I got an invite at that email, but of course, since I am signed into a completely different Apple ID for iCloud on my iPhone, it’s not working. Even though I am signed into the iTunes/Store-use Apple ID on the exact same device (since you can use multiple Apple ID’s on one iPhone.)

The way the system should work is that the invite simply detects that at least one of two Apple ID’s is signed in to the desired iPhone to apply for Apple Card, and then it automatically associates itself with your iCloud-use Apple ID upon application approval. I informed an Apple Support rep about this and they said they’ve referred it up to the engineers.

I couldn’t imagine I was the only one, hence why now Apple is suggesting to simply re-apply using the “Notify Me” button with a reassurance that invites will take up to 48 hours to show up, since the initial invites that went out are non-transferable and the infrastructure probably doesn’t exist to override these conditions.

These are the instructions going out to those that applied to be notified but may have entered an incorrect email, but again, even those that entered the correct email are being notified, which I guess you could say is a glitch. I’m not too sure about that but I’d imagine Apple is working to fix that as well, so just hang in there.

All in all, re-apply on apple.com/apple-card and you should be good to go within 48 hours.

Super easy fix.

If you used an email not associated with your iCloud but got the invitation to another email IT WILL NOT WORK.

You’ll need to sign into iCloud using the email you got the invitation from.

Now if if you can’t use that email anymore you’ll need to reapply using your current iCloud email.

This is happened to me. Tested theory out and luckily was able to sign into my old iCloud email to apply.

So I was on a LONG call with Apple Support and a senior engineer and my issue is finally resolved. The Apple ID I had for the iTunes Store was not an email address and it did not have an email associated with it. I had to change that Apple ID to my gmail address. Then I had to sign in again to the Store using my gmail address (the password did not change) and password. Once I did that, I was able to go back to my original invitation email and the link worked and I now have my Apple Card!! My advice is go to appleI’d.apple.com and sign in. If you have two IDs try it with both. If you get a message that your ID is not associated with an email, use a different email address and then try the invitation again. Good luck.

I too received an early invite for the new Apple Card. I applied using the Wallet app on my iPhone 6s. Although I have excellent creddit ratings, my applicaton was declined using the Wallet app. i received a popup telling me I would receive an email within 24 hours explaining the reason for their refusal to give me the Apple Card. Today Goldman Sachs tells me that there is a big problem with many, many applicants being declined. He said I am only one of many who have called to complain about not receiving any notice of the reason for being declined. I have placed 4 calls today to various Apple support areas about this problem, and so far no one at Apple is taking any responsibility. They blame Goldman Sachs for this problem, and Goldman Sachs support people don't know why there is a problem. Apple has many excuses for why the application could have been declined, but their excuses don't apply to my circumstances. I believe there is a problem with the Wallet App! Tech Support is useless for this Apple Card problem. Good Luck. Stick to VISA. It's more honest.

As a follow up to my earlier post - where I used my iTunes email instead of my cloud email when submitting for an invite.... I've been waiting for a new email telling me to apply using my correct address as I had gone back and resubmitted. I never received a new email, however I tried the link in the email using the wrong address again one more time just for the heck of it. going thru the procedure and I got a popup asking if I wanted to use my cloud email and of course I selected yes. 1 minute later and I have a new card that I really don't need....

But - it works!

Thanks for putting this question out there. I have a similar issue. I received the invitation email to “Your invitation to get early access”, but when I follow the instructions and go into the wallet, hit the plus sign, and then CONTINUE, all I get is a screen that wants me to take a picture of the card I’m trying to add. I’m not getting the screen that says “Choose the type of card you’d like to add to Apple Pay” with Apple Card as one of the options.

Definitely tried that. The link in the email just takes you to more detailed instructions on how to use the Wallet app to apply. I even went to the Apple Store in Georgetown (Washington DC) and three techs there couldn’t help. One of the three gave it great effort thought with several ideas. He even had me delete all of my card in the wallet hoping that a fresh start would make the offer appear. That didn’t work either.
