How do I transfer a photo from my MP to my XR?

I have a vertical photo on my MP 5,1 that I took with my Canon SLR. I want to use it for my home screen on my iPhone XR. I see lots of posts about getting photos from the XR to the MP but none about going the other way. I don't have any problems getting the photos on my XR to my MP.

  1. Import photos and video from storage media, like a hard disk or SD card, to Photos for macOS.
  2. Use a scanner and Image Capture to import photos that were taken with a film camera.
  3. Import your images directly to a folder on your Mac with Image Capture.

Get photos from your computer to your iOS device

You can choose among several options for transferring photos and videos from your computer to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  • Use iCloud Photos with Photos for macOS or iCloud for Windows to keep your photos safely stored and up-to-date on all your devices.
  • Use AirDrop to wirelessly send photos and videos from your Mac to your iOS device. This is a quick and easy Mac-only option for sending a few items. When you send photos and videos to an iOS device via AirDrop, they appear in the device's Photos app.
  • Sync your photos manually with iTunes. Each time that you sync your iOS device with iTunes, the photos and videos on your iOS device update to match the albums on your computer.

This sounds great but I haven't been successful with Air Drop yet. On my phone in Settings II have AirDrop set to "Everyone". On my computer I select a photo and click AirDrop under the Share button in Photos. I get a window with the photo showing and a link at the top that says "Don't see who you're looking for?". When I click on the link I see the message "To share with someone using a Mac, ask them to go to AirDrop in the Finder." I can't find AirDrop on the home screen. The XR and the MP are on the same WIFI within feet of the modem.
