Problem with Safari

I use Safari for nearly all my Internet use EXCEPT when I'm using World Poker Tour (PlayWPT) or World Series of Poker (WSOP). With these 2 apps I get a message that I'm using too much memory and the program shut down. This does not happen when I'm using Firefox. WHY?
