MagSafe 2 T-Tip

My T-Tip connector, which has the magnetic head; the pins got damaged. Some how juice or something leaked into the pins and they don’t want to fully extend to charge my MacBook Pro.

Is there anywhere I can just order the T-Tip head and splice into the original cord wire? Then solder the wires back together?

Im trying to avoid buying another cord, as I heard that the aftermarket cords aren’t of good quality and the Guage of the wire is thinner than the original, which means it’s unable to charge as fast as the original.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So im wondering if I would be better off clipping just underneath the head of the T-Tip and ordering an aftermarket Cord and reattach the head to the Oem cord.

But what would the braided shield do for the wire? I thought that was of no use.

I don't exactly know what it does, but many braided or foil shields conduct ground.
