What Credit Reporting Agency (CRA) does Goldman Sachs use for Apple Card Credit Verifications?

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209257#howtoapply

  • Specifically, "... If you have a freeze on your credit report, you need to temporarily lift the freeze to apply for Apple Card ..."

I have credit reports "frozen" from all Credit Reporting Agencies (CRAs)

Which CRA's Credit Report do I need to temporarily "unfreeze" in order to apply for the Apple Card?

(e.g. Equifax, Experian, Transunion, ... )

(This really should be clarified on the support page linked above)

Posting "the answer" as a service to other "searchers"

After a bit of online research and a phone call, the answer is ... TransUnion.

" ... A credit check is required when signing up for the Apple Card. Approvals are done by Goldman Sachs, and Goldman Sachs uses TransUnion for credit checks. If you have a credit freeze applied, you will need to unfreeze your TransUnion credit. ..."

Source 2: Calling the "877" number provided on the Goldman Sachs Apple Card Customer Agreement [pdf] available here:

Since I selected "no" when asked if I already had an Apple Credit Card, I was immediately transferred what certainly sounded like Apple Support.

The individual fielding my call also answered "TransUnion" after only 2-3 minutes of "research"

Hope this helps others.
