How do I eliminate getting holiday notifications?

Turn off the Holiday Calendar. The holiday calendar is a subscription calendar, and as such you have no option to edit the calendar. Only the owner/creator of the calendar can do that. If the current holiday calendar does not meet your needs, you can subscribe to one that may do that, or you can create your own.
