I think I have found a decent work around.
2. I found a terminal command to disable itunes auto backups. I don't need that at work since my main library it at home & I back up there.
Still tho, anyone know of a tool to just load movies & music onto the ipad without itunes? I don't need to copy music or files off the ipad, just put stuff onto it.
thanks!
I'm loathe to work in Terminal, but you'd think that Apple would give us a click in preferences to prevent this. Can you post this workaround, I want to save it, because I might need to implement it on my second computer for both my iPhone and iPad.
There really is no way to move movies and music without iTunes, unless you want to violate your user agreement. We can't talk about that here, so just google it.
The iPad/iPhone/iTunes environment is a closed one. Apple has its reasons, and there are millions of arguments on both sides. But here's a big positive: recently, Apple rejected an app, because it was going to be used to steal credit card numbers. In an open system, like Android, no one is monitoring those kind of apps.
I happen to like iTunes, because I want a simple, always working system. It has some pains, but overall it works 99% of the time. And for my geeky side, there's enough fun apps to keep my brain stimulated.
Thanks.
