SSD data recovery

Hi there,

can anyone tell me about a good free (or cheap) software to recover data from a failing SSD?

I had it on a MacBook Pro mid 2010 and now it fails but have some files on it that I would like to recover.

thanks in advance.

regards

I've seen good performance from Prosoft Data Recovery. But I'm afraid the price is comparable.

There is a free trial to see if it can recover what you need. But don't do another process on that drive until you've downloaded and run it.

Ideally you should use another bootable drive to download and run Data Rescue. Or booted from another Mac in Target Disk Mode.

Then there are professional recovery services, like DriveSavers but it is much more pricey.

Hi MacJack

thanks for the answer. I have installed a new drive and did not work on the failing one since. for that price I think I will forget about those files. it's just some pictures that I took from the last time machine backup till the SSD failed so it does not worth 89$. will have to do backups more often from now on, but after 9 years without problems, you tend to be lazy on backups :-(.
