On iPhone 6S Blue Light That I See on the User-Facing Camera

My User-Facing Camera on my iPhone 6S is a camera for selfies and for Facetime chats. I am aware of this. But I have a blue light that I see on the User-Facing Camera that goes when I am at certain locations although the camera is not being used. This happens consistently at a few locations. I was wondering what is that blue light? I am not using the camera at all, so what can this blue light be? I will thank you in advance for your kind assistance.

I looked at a schematic of my iPhone 6 S to discern which of the two sensors (ambient light sensor or proximity sensor) which you spoke of that it could be. The blue light is coming from the ambient light sensor. I looked up how to disable/turn off the ambient light sensor. Settings>General>Accessibility>Display Accomodations>Enable Display>Enable/Disable Auto Brightness. I disabled the Auto Brightness so the ambient light sensor would not turn on the blue light. Then I went to a location where the ambient light sensor's blue light turns on. The blue light still turned on although the ambient light sensor had been disabled. Any ideas why this could be. I will thank you in advance for your kind assistance.
