Thanks for replying but no, I do not receive an error message. When I press on the jpg to enlarge it, the screen goes blank with dashes which keeping repeating itself which what it does when the ipad it trying to connect to do something. I have let it do that for minutes at a time, thinking it may only just need extra time to enlarge the image. My other option was to save it as a file. I tried that but it would not save it in files. Once, it offered me to rename the file which I did, but then it would not save it in files.
In another email from another person, they sent me two jpgs and this time, it gave me the option to download them and view them through the iCloud file. But the solitary one in the paragraph I wrote above, did not give me this option.
Hello,
I can respect that. Is there any way for you to replicate this problem with another document or heavily sensor the contents of the screenshot? This would help me understand what exactly is going on.
Hello,
Perfect, thanks for the screenshot! This is normal behavior for iPad. Today iPad does not have a traditional file downloaded in Safari. When Safari downloads a file you will be presented with 2 options. The first is your default option, in this case your default PDF reader is Apple Books. The second option is More, this allows you to save or open the file into any other supported application.
Apple has announced that as apart of this Fall’s iPadOS 13 that iPad’s Safari will get a traditional download menu which will automatically save files into a traditional Downloads folder in the Files application.
While Apple has not announced a release date for the free iPadOS 13 update, iPadOS 13 will most likely launch in ~ a month. It shouldn’t be too much longer that you will be presented with this older style of download management.
Another email came through with one . . . This time it wanted me to “open” it in “books.” This is just beyond me. Sorry.
Hello,
Do you receive an error message?
Hello,
Would you please be able to post a screenshot? When posting a screenshot please be certain to sensor out any sensitive information.
Sorry, no. It was a document that I wish to remain private.
If another one is sent to me, I might try that. Thank you for trying to help.
