Adding Apple Card as iCloud payment method?

I got the Apple Card and want to add it as a payment method for iCloud. I have separate Apple IDs for iTunes and iCloud. For iTunes I was able to go into the payment settings, and the Apple Card showed up as one of the cards in my Wallet, so I added it easily. For iCloud though the Apple Card isn't showing up in the "Found in Wallet" section so I have no way to add it other than by the card number, which seems wrong. Considering Apple wants you to use Apple Card for purchases this makes no sense.

Anyone else not have Apple Card show up as a payment option for iCloud?

I don't think this is the case as I can see the Apple Card in my Wallet which is tied to the iCloud account. I can also see my Apple Card balance when I log into my iCloud Apple ID at https://appleid.apple.com. I don't see that listed there when I log into my iTunes Apple ID (though I do see the Apple Card as my default payment).

The page you linked to says the Apple Card is tied to iCloud, not iTunes. I feel this may be a bug in Apple's handling of multiple accounts.

I spoke to Apple Support and they said that I should be able to use Apple Card in both iCloud and iTunes. The person suggested I just enter the card number, though that seems wrong.

I just had a long Messages discussion with someone from Goldman, and they claim the only way to pay for iCloud and other services is to make the Apple Card the default card in your Wallet, and then it will just "magically" work. I don't believe that for a second. They also claim that there is no other way to use the Apple Card to pay for iCloud, which I further don't believe. But at this point I don't know who to ask for the real answer. Guess next time I'm at the Apple Store I'll ask there.
