Printing on both sides

You specifically mentioned using Word, so here is a link to the Microsoft support page which explains how to do it since their printing menu options differ from the macOS print dialog options. Be sure to scroll down to the section for printing on both sides of the paper.

From the Microsoft Word menu bar, select File > Print...

On the Print dialog window, verify that:

• Printer: <the proper printer is selected ... that supports 2-sided printing>
• Presets: Default Settings
• Copies & Pages. Change this to: Layout
• Change Two-Sided to either Long-Edge or Short-Edge binding as preferred.
• Click on Print.
