iPad messages show 3 unread

iPad shows 3 unread messages. iPhone shows none. There are none. Tried forced restart of iPad. It didn’t cure the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello,

These things usually have a tendency to resolve themself after awhile. If they do not you could try to disable iMessage in Settings -> Messages then re-enable iMessage.
