My screen went black last night i tried restarting it, I plugged it into my computer it finally showed up on itunes, I update it nothing works i try restoring it and nothing works please help

I tried restarting my iphone by pressing the volume up then volume down then holding the power button, the phone stayed black. I then plugged it into my laptop and it was still unresponsive, my phone was not even being recognized by itunes. I held the power button and then it gave me the option to update or restore my iphone i tried updating it 3 times but still my phone screen was black and would not turn on. I tried restoring my phone which still did not turn my iphone on thats why i said nothing works ..
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar and have it checked.
Please explain what you mean by "nothing works".
