‘Your iPhone can not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable’

I can’t seem to get my new IPhone 4 working whenever I try activating it it says ‘Your iPhone can not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable’ I have been trying to activate it for the past few days and still have no luck do u have any suggestions?
