Apple ID balance not working

i have $10 balance in my apple id, but it’s not letting me use it. (haven’t used it yet) when i go to use it it always says “insufficient remaining store credit.” but i javenteven used any yet, and if you go in my apple id it even says balance: $10.00

the thing i want is in a game, and it cost $9.99 so that’s not the problem. i’m not sure what to do.

Either add a payment method to the account (e.g. credit card), or redeem another gift card onto the account - if taxes is applicable $10 won't be sufficient for a $9.99 item.
