I have recently reinstalled Mac OS X Snow Leopard on my 2008 iMac. When launching the mac, I am unable to find the App Store or anywhere to log into my Apple ID on the Mac. I have tried updating the software but the Mac freezes out on the home screen. Any advice?

and then update the APP STORE app using this
Your computer should be able to run El Capitan.
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.

Also check to make sure there is a compatible driver for your printer.
Do a backup before installing, preferable 2 backups on 2 different drives.
If the App Store won't download El Capitan, try booting into another admin user account to see if you can download it there.
The App Store didn't appear in Snow Leopard until 10.6.6.
Update your software as you are running 10.6.3.
Thank you! I have managed to update the software and now have the app store. However, I attempted to download some apps off the app store and nothing happened? I downloaded and installed the app store update but nothing changed on the app store. In addition, how would I log into my Apple ID in order to sync up all my photos and so on?
Are you signed into the App Store? Check the top right under Quick Links. Error message(s) when trying to download?
How are you trying to sync your photos? If using a newer device, it won'y sync with Snow Leopard.
Yes I am signed into the app store. No error messages appear when attempting to download anything on the app store, I press the “GET” button and nothing happens after that. I have provided a picture below. Is there another, more up-to-date operating system I can download now I have reinstalled snow leopard? Any help would be appreciated.
Okay no worries. How would I go about updating the software? When I check for updates and try and update it that way it freezes on the home screen.
