BootCamp: Installing AMD driver update borks Windows 10

I have a 2017 27" iMac with the 3.5 GHz core i5.

After I update the AMD drivers from inside Windows 10, Windows won't boot anymore. I get the blue screen of death.

I'm using Windows 10 Pro, and previously I've installed Windows 10 on BootCamp and had... well, just **** from it. Even without updating AMD drivers, usually it works fine for about two days and then I get the blue screen of death and it just won't start up no matter what I do.

To fix it I've had to install and re-install and re-install and wipe the whole mac and re-install and re-install and re-install... and repeat... and repeat...

Anyway the most recent time I got it working, I turned off auto-updates on the Windows control panel, and that seemed to keep things stable.

Until.

The whole reason I got Windows running was to play No Man's Sky, and now No Man's Sky won't run without an AMD update, and the AMD update kills all life and joy in the world.

Actually now for some reason I don't even get the blue screen of death--I can't boot into Windows at all, even when I select that drive from the option screen at startup. When I try it just boots into the Mac OS instead--!!!

The only thing I can thing of is to remove Windows AGAIN and re-do BootCamp AGAIN and hope that the updated drivers get installed automatically that way, but cripes cripes cripes I hope somebody here can tell me how to NOT do that, or...

...well, the other nightmare is that I remove and re-install and Windows still doesn't have up-to-date drivers and then I'm back where I started.

So can anyone tell me either:

a) how to save my current Windows installation

or

b) how to safely install an AMD update next time if I need to

help!!!

This is the agony of Windows Updates and unstable AMD drivers.

Create a Windows System Restore point.

or

Instead of using the AMD updates, do you want to try the drivers from bootcampdrivers.com?
