I'd like to be able to send an mp3 by email but it's too big. Dropbox isn't an option for receiving folk. How do I compress it?

Yes, Windows users, as any other users, will receive a download link.
Anyway, here're some file sharing services to upload temporarily large files:
If you've a Google account you can consider Google Drive.
You say that Dropbox isn't an option for the receivers, but if it is for you then you should be able to send them a public link they can use to access the file for download in any web browser. It would likely only be an issue if there was some corporate security policy blocking the Dropbox website. You don't need them to set up a Dropbox account.

Thank you for this. I saw that there are a lot of on-line services but I need a recommendation since I don't know any of them and don't trust them.
I would simply like to compress the file so that I can send it by Mail or WhatsApp. A simple compression.
Regarding uploading to Cloud to send file, my recipients are Windows users. Can they access the file?

Ok, I've done that and sent it to one of the recipients to see if she got it and will be able to open it. I think it will be fine. I won't hear back today though. Will wait to see. But it was easy and seems to have moved easily. I had no idea how to do that. By the way, not using right-click but there's actually a button choice to create the link.

Put the file in your Dropbox, wait for it to upload, right-click and copy Dropbox link, paste in an email, job done.
