2019 MBP CPU temperature spike at startup

My 2019 8-core MBP shows a very high CPU temperature spike at startup - on the order of 95-100°C for a short time for core 1. This is measured with iStats Menu 6. This seems to drop within 10-15 sec. or so. My 2016 MBP didn't show this kind of temperature transient.

Is this normal?

Thanks.

John

If it is a brand new Mac, several things could be happening as encryption is taking place/ spotlight indexing etc.

If this is on going problem you can try
