HomePod not connecting to wifi because it is incompatible.

I just moved into my dorm and I began setting up my HomePod with the university's wifi and I keep getting the wifi incompatible message. My iPhone X is fully updated and I've reset my HomePod and restarted my phone and no luck.

HomePod doesn't support public or subscription networks with sign-in requirements or enterprise-style deployments.

Although I thought I saw there was some wifi fix in a previous update: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209084#124. I can’t seem to find it on that page

Have you updated HomePod software to 12.4?
