MacBook Pro screen freezing

What can I do to prevent my screen from freezing up with the Apple symbol and task bar when I turn on my laptop? I think it may have been updating before freezing.

I suggest you use the program created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  It will provide a snapshot of your system which we can analyze to possibly determine the cause of your problem. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

Since we cannot see your computer from here, it is important that we all user consistent standard terminology, so that ideas can be communicated precisely -- it is not splitting hairs to use precise terms.

The solid Apple symbol appears in the center of the screen, early-in in the Startup Process, when your Mac loads the first 'blob' of software from a 'magic place" on the drive. It is sometimes accompanied by a Progress bar, which gets longer as subsequent processes complete, but that Progress bar is never called a Task bar.

The Task bar, properly referred to as the "Dock" appears along an edge (bottom by default) of the display with the background desktop image, and contains distinctive Icons for commonly-used Applications and a few folder, does not appear until after the system is fully operational and you have completed login.

The centered solid Apple and the Dock do not appear on the screen at the same time, ever. Which are you seeing?
