second hand phone dont know the apple id or apple id password for the activation lock for my new sim

I have a second hand phone and am not in contact with the owner anymore I have just bought a new sim and need the Apple ID and password which I don’t know as I need it for the activation lock! I’m so stuck on what to do please help!

You will need to contact the previous owner to have them log out of iCloud or go to iCloud.com/Find My Phone and erase the device, then remove it from their account. If you can’t do that, the device is useless. Apple will not unlock it unless you have a copy of the original purchase receipt with the serial number on it.
